Summary: It’s mortifying, the way Steve’s desperate whimpers and bone-deep groans are pinballing off the tile with such force, they can’t not be spilling out into the gym. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the team filtered out a half hour ago and there’s no one around to hear it; Bucky is knocking loose sounds from behind Steve’s clenched teeth that he’s sure must be echoing all the way across campus. It’s fucking reckless, and Steve’s burning pure kerosene in his veins for it.

Steve’s smile grew and his eyes flicked to Bucky’s lips. “You like that, huh?” He stood in Bucky’s space, biting his lip and crowding even closer. “Like being called sweet things?” Bucky’s first season with the New York Rugby Club has come to an end, and he thought the adventure was over until next season. That was, at least, before Steve Rogers - Bucky’s walking wet dream - came strolling into the locker room, giving him all sorts of mixed signals.
Summary: Steve was a bit weirded out that this random stranger, who knew just how he wiggled his elbow from his college days, had somehow found him in a batting cage in Nowhere Fucking Michigan. Summary: Steve was Steve. He was Captain America, son of Sarah Rogers, lover of the Brooklyn Dodgers, lover of the New York Americans, the heart of the Avengers, relatively normal-ish. Though those changed didn’t they? Dodgers play out in the West, the Americans were disbanded after the Rangers took over MSG, and as Steve got more in his head, the Avengers noticed how he wasn’t acting himself. Bucky was Bucky. Hockey extraordinaire, captain of the New York Howling Commandos, lover of sports and his teammates, steady-headed relatively usually. Bucky just wants some peace, and to make it out of this new season in one piece, preferably with a few new records and trophies along the way. Summary: Steve has never been great at making friends. “Ask for Bucky Barnes.” Her lips turned up at the name. “He’s one of the math majors that I oversee, haven’t had a student work with him who hasn’t passed.”
No pressure, Steve thought. “I’ll make sure to do that. Thank you Dr. Potts.”
“Good luck Steve.”
He didn’t need luck, he needed a miracle.
