#Alpha!Bucky (ABO) [category - ongoing]

Updated: Aug 2

ABO fics where Bucky is the Alpha (please reads tags carefully)

Orphan_Account

Summary: Here we are, humans minding our own business on the internet, and someone, somewhere decided it would be a good idea to create Alpha/Beta/Omega 'verse. What is that, you ask? This work answers that question and more...

Librarian's Note: Essential reading for those who are new to the ABO universes. I am a convert, I never EVER thought I'd be interested in ABO and now I am one of the biggest supporters because there is so much that an author can DO within this genre. Please read this, and give it a go. There are plenty of different ABO 'verses out there, so it's actually fairly easy to avoid your personal squicks, provided you pay attention to the tags.

Summary:

Bucky looked at Steve. Steve carefully did not look at Bucky.

“You didn’t tell him?” Becca asked, pausing in the doorway. Steve shook his head.

“He only just got here. Besides, I thought you would have told him over the phone,” Steve grumbled, now also carefully not looking at Becca.

“He is also standing right the fuck here,” Bucky snapped. “In case you both forgot.”

“Steve,” Bucky started, quietly, purposely not looking at either of them now. “Why is Becca your doctor?”

Neither Steve nor Becca answered him. Bucky looked up. Becca was watching Steve, who was staring intently at a wrinkle in the sheet covering the bed he was sitting on.

“Why is Becca your doctor right now?” He asked again, more forcefully, this time looking to his sister. “And why are we in the fucking family rooms?”

*****

Steve’s a marathon runner. He’s still friends with his ex-alpha, his life revolves around training, work, and Bucky, his best friend. He’s also 6 months pregnant and he doesn’t know who the sire is. If he ignores his problems, they’ll go away, right?

Summary: Bucky Barnes has one rule: to never get involved with one of his artists. But one night when he goes to check in on a commission, he’s faced with a desperate Steve Rogers in heat. In his underwear. How is he supposed to resist?

Summary: Bucky doesn't remember being Steve's alpha. Until he does. ~~~ Based off this wonderful anon prompt I received: ABO Stucky where Bucky doesn't remember being Steve's alpha until Steve runs out of the scent blockers and heat suppressants he used to hide his depression over losing his alpha and not deal with heats alone. He thought he'd be alright to deal with his untimely heat, Bucky on a mission for another week. So Steve could whimper and cry out for his alpha in peace while using toys. But Bucky comes home and the scent of Steve in heat brings EVERYTHING back.

Summary: Living with an alpha was usually … difficult. The last alpha he’d shared a building with, some asshole whose name Steve had forgotten almost immediately, had been pushy – scenting the entire building, walking up and down the hallway of Steve’s floor on regular days, let alone when Steve was in heat. After a week of the guy literally scratching at his door, Steve had packed up and left, and the landlady hadn’t blamed him – had even given him back his bond, though she had been entitled to keep it given the circumstances. The worst part had been when they had crossed paths as Steve had been preparing to move out. The alpha had leered at Steve, catcalled and coaxed, puffed up and made his scent that much more potent. Convinced for some reason that Steve would mate him just because of his designation. Fat chance. Steve had held his breath the last time they had been face to face, refused to look at him, thrown the guy’s hand off when he’d tried to stop Steve from leaving. Bucky though? Perfect. Fucking. Gentleman. And it drove Steve nuts.

Summary: Bucky is an alpha with no hope of ever having an opportunity to court an Omega. Or maybe he's just been looking for the wrong type of Omega!

Summary: Steve really isn’t sure about sharing with an Alpha but he is starting to run out of options. There are only six Omega boarding houses in the city and Steve has been kicked out of four of them. Or: A small town a/o/b AU that nobody asked for.

Summary: In a world where Alphas are dominant and Omegas are coveted, Betas are truly the third sex. Expected to be willowy and delicate, they're also considered artistic and flighty, everything that Steve Rogers is not. He's too big and too ungainly, and enjoys his work as an ED nurse far too much to be a socially-acceptable Beta. He's dated Omegas all his life, but what he secretly wants is to be bonded to an Alpha, even though he's sure Alphas would never be attracted to a Beta like him. Annoyed at his self-perception, his best friend and Alpha Peggy Carter, takes him to an Alpha bar in an attempt to prove him wrong. When one of the patrons goes into an accidental rut, Steve is the only one who can step up to help. Bucky is definitely an Alpha, definitely in rut, and definitely the most gorgeous man that Steve has ever seen. Steve knows that taking him home to keep him safe might be risky, but he doesn't expect to go into a sympathetic heat from the Alpha's pheromones. Nor can he possibly expect the bond mark that he wakes up with in the morning...

Summary: Having just come back from his run, Steve looks like a picture in a magazine, T-shirt tight but sweat pants loose, the exercise barely affecting him beyond a slight sheen of sweat on his skin. He’s not even breathing hard, completely photo-ready. Steve’s the reason why Bucky is standing by the kitchen counter at seven in the morning when he would much rather be still in bed. After the first few days, when Steve finally would allow Bucky to be out of his sight for longer than five minutes, Steve had reverted to his set morning routine, slipping out of bed before dawn when all sensible people are still trying to sleep. It had taken Bucky two days to catch on and adapt to the new situation. Now, every morning, though he’s loathe to leave the bed that smells of him and Steve, Bucky rolls himself to his feet about an hour after Steve leaves to ensure that he’s by the door when Steve comes back. If he doesn’t, Steve will head straight for the shower to wash off all of the hard won sweat that Bucky would like to drown himself in. (Or, since being rescued, Bucky's relearning what he's missed. Steve goes into heat. Pretty much complete porn).

Summary: Steve Rogers wakes to a world unlike the one he left: a world in which, thanks to his fame, omegas work side by side with alphas and betas and where Captain America has become far more than Steve Rogers can hope to be. He wakes to a world where it's been two weeks going on seventy years since his bond broke, but he's still feeling the effects of his loss.

Summary: Steve’s knees nearly went out from under him, but he grabbed onto the table to stay upright. He whined – he couldn’t help it. His chest cracked open, breaking him down until he was sixteen years old again, thin and sickly. The pale grey of those eyes was so familiar, but Steve hadn’t seen it, hadn’t even thought to look for it. How? A voice screamed inside. How did I not see? His entire being trembled as he whispered, “Bucky?” The Soldier’s usually cold eyes changed then, something flashed in them as his nostrils flared, harshly inhaling Steve’s scent before he said the words that finally made his buckling knees give out, forcing Steve to the ground. “Who the hell is Bucky?” A ghost found his way to the Avengers, asking for help - a ghost of a man long thought dead.

Summary: The asset’s heat is syncing with his mission’s rut. Or maybe that’s supposed to be the other way around.

Summary: A growl. It makes Steve’s knees turn into jelly and his body clench again. With dawning horror Steve realizes what is about to happen. Or: The fight on the bridge doesn’t go as Hydra planned. Gratuitous a/o/b fic.

Summary:

Steve's life wasn't exactly a pleasant one. After presenting as an omega he was plucked out of his normal life at sixteen and forced to live at an Omega House, where the only life skills he was permitted to learn were cooking, cleaning, and childcare. Most omegas never lasted long in these places, being chosen within a few months, a year at most, but Steve wasn't your average omega. At over six feet tall and bulky with muscle, no one wanted such a big omega. Then, eight years later, an alpha named James Barnes chose him. At first, he acts like every other alpha, treating Steve's body like property, uncaring how Steve might feel about being manhandled in such a way.And yet, as time passed, Steve began to see another side to the alpha, and he began to wonder if James Barnes is truly all that he seemed.
