#mafia & mobsters [category - ongoing]

Updated: Aug 2

where one or both are in the mafia, are mobsters, or gang members, or are connected to organised crime in some other way

Summary: Unemployed artist Steve takes a job managing the worst coffee shop in Brooklyn, where the floors are greasy, the coffee beans have expired, the espresso machine’s been sabotaged, and the owners might be Russian Mafia. But the job comes with a few perks, like a generous paycheck, reasonable hours, and one super-hot customer whom Steve can’t resist having dirty, filthy, bad-idea sex with in the bathroom. Steve is pretty sure this job is going to kill him. But what a way to go....

Summary: James 'Bucky' Barnes is the Winter Soldier, head of the Romanov Family - a well connected mob boss and cold hearted killer. He's trying to have a good time at his birthday party when it's crashed by the NYPD. Or is it?

Summary: James Barnes should be just like any other patient Steve sees in his Brooklyn clinic, but the mob enforcer bleeding all over his waiting room chair apparently didn’t get the memo.

Summary: Here is James Barnes, the most dangerous Alpha in New York. Rich, powerful, cocky and short-tempered, his only skill greater than his persuasion or intimidation is his marksmanship. Head of the Seyrbakov crime family, inherited over the heads of the late Aleksei Seyrbakov’s own sons, who he had deported when they attempted to murder him. Top of Interpol and the FBI and the CIA and probably the NSA’s most wanted lists, but there’s never enough evidence to bring even a parking ticket against him, as it has been for New York’s Bratva since the late 1910s. His company smuggles weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, exotic animals, you name it, but you’ll never find a shred of proof. If land barons still existed, then Barnes – owning property in all the five boroughs, the state, the country, even on other continents – would easily be one. When you think of the Russian mafia, you think of Barnes. Here is James Barnes, gracing the scum and lowlifes of Brooklyn with his presence, and here is Steve Rogers, not-so-cheap yet consistently broke hooker, sitting on his lap like he belongs there. Very rapidly, that makes him the most dangerous Omega in New York.

Summary: Based on the prompt: “I’m an assassin and I’ve been hired to kill you but well your mom saw me and one thing led to another and now you and I are gonna be married tomorrow, this is really awkward, and oh shoot you’re cute too well this is a problem” AU

Summary: Steve has been undercover with Hydra for a couple of months, slowly getting deeper into the organization . As he tries to figure out what they’re plotting and tries to take them down, he struggles with his past, loneliness, and keeping his cover. When he finds out about a mysterious contractor, the Winter Soldier, Steve figures he or she is the key to Hydra’s plans, but getting more information is not without risk. But well, Steve is anything but risk averse - just ask his secretive one-night-stand turned regular hookup turned …something, James “Bucky” Barnes. Or, going undercover with the criminal organization that haunted your neighborhood growing up, a Steve Rogers guide: Step 1 - Don’t make it personal; Step 2 - Don’t take unnecessary risks; Step 3 - Don’t lose your cool; Step 4 - Don’t fall in love with a hitman; Step 5 - Ignore rules 1 to 4, especially 4. Title from the song "Lovers In A Dangerous Time"

Summary: Steve Rogers is the head of the Irish mob. James “Lucky Bucky” Barnes heads the Romanian mob. They barely tolerate each other on the best days. But when a rising threat from the Sicilians forces them to have to work together, nobody could have foreseen the outcome. They come out of their secret meeting with a new alliance—maybe something more, if they’re willing to take what they want.

Summary: You know, just a classic: "how did you two meet?" ("I got shot" / "He came into my clinic and bled all over my floor.") Written for: Hot Bucky Summer, Week 8: “How’d you meet?"

Summary:

When Steve Rogers does something nice for the wife of one of the largest Russian mafia families, Winifred sends her son, James Buchanan Barnes, to offer him a 'favor' in return. But Steve, who is incapable of seeing the bad in anyone, ends up missing the fact that Bucky's in the mafia entirely and thinks that this brick house of a man wants to go on a date. Bucky, finding this clueless yet confident coffee shop owner refreshing and adorable, decides to give it a shot.

What blooms is a lovely romance between the two, where Steve is constantly surprised that they always have the best seats at restaurants, that Bucky seems to know everyone in Little Odessa, and that Bucky has a crap ton of guns in his apartment. But why do all of Steve's friends go pale when Bucky comes around? How does Natasha know Bucky? And when Steve's health starts to get in the way, how far will Bucky go to make things right?

A mafia AU slams into a coffee shop AU, and out pops a cracky, fluffy, smutty, and angsty identity porn fic between son-of-a-mafia boss Bucky Barnes and clueless coffee shop owner Steve Rogers that takes a brief look into the bowels of the American healthcare system.

Summary:

It's been eight years since Bucky Barnes left Steve standing alone and heartbroken. Eight years since Steve confessed his feelings and shared a kiss that left him aching for the impossible. Eight years since Bucky Barnes abandoned him to take up the mantle of his step-father's mob, Hydra.

Now, Steve's carefully rebuilt world is threatening to collapse again when he finds himself on a list of 'Untouchable People' in their neighborhood. Anyone who harms Steve Rogers will find themselves the target of a new, vicious mafia leader--the Winter Soldier.

(Or, the AU where Bucky tries to protect Steve by threatening violence on anyone who hurts him and inadvertently leads him into a world of mob violence, Interpol raids, and an overthrow of Alexander Pierce. )

Summary:

Steve is a down-on-his-luck Omega, freshly out of an abusive relationship, trying to get back on his feet. Becoming a stripper was never on his anticipated career path, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Bucky, Alpha heir to the Barnes Mafia empire, likes to work the front lines of one of their legitimate businesses. It helps to keep him grounded, keeps his father in a permanent state of confusion and you never know what tidbits you might pick up when working as a bartender at a strip club.

What he didn’t expect, though, was to make friends with the new hire. He didn’t anticipate becoming friends with benefits with him either. He absolutely did not expect to fall in love. There’s now two major problems - Steve isn’t looking for anything other than casual and he doesn’t actually know who Bucky really is.
